Up to this point Tennis Brisbane has acted on the advice that has been provided by the Federal and State Government Medical Officers. The advice continues to suggest that Tennis is a safe sport to participate in (if precautions are adhered to). The use of tennis courts for general court hire, small group lessons and private lessons remains an opportunity for all tennis providers to continue to offer their local communities the joy of participating in the sport we all love.
With that said, the board of Tennis Brisbane have made the decision to suspend all Tennis Brisbane programs at this time. This decision has been made on the back of the announcement by the Premier to reduce all non-essential travel outside of your suburb. Whilst many of us believe that playing tennis each week could be viewed as “essential”, the health and well-being of our community must come first. Therefore, effective immediately, ALL TENNIS BRISBANE SUPER LEAGUE PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED.
We understand that this will be trying times for everyone over the coming months. These steps are necessary in the climate we are all faced with as a community. We appreciate how important Tennis is to each of you and to the communities that you live in. We will explore every option to have our competitions back up and running once it is safe to do so.
